Swim Meet 101

Before the meet

  1. DECLARE if your kids are swimming at a meet by SATURDAY @ 12 pm. THIS IS A STRICT DEADLINE so that the coaches can prepare the schedule by 10 am on Monday. 
  2. Check the schedule and the meet location
  3. Mark your child's number on their upper right and left shoulder
  4. Double check your volunteer signup or if you haven't find out what jobs are still open. 
  5. Don't forget your chairs, towels, goggles (a couple of pairs) and cash for food

Arrival at meet

  1. HOME MEETS ARRIVE NO Later than 5 pm - our warm up time is 5 to 5:30
  2. AWAY MEETS ARRIVE NO later than 5:15 - our warm up time is 5:30 p
  3. Swimmers will check in with the coaches 
  4. Parent Volunteers check-in with the TSA representative or volunteer coordinator

Swimmer behavior

  1. Swimmers should be cheering on their team-mates
  2. Swimmers should stay with their age group and mind the Kid pushers
  3. Swimmers should not engage in horseplay
  4. After a swim, swimmers should congratulate the other swimmers. 


Disagreements with judging, etc.

  1. The TSA representatives are responsible for the meet. Parents should in no way discuss judging calls or timing issues with the judges but rather, talk with your TSA representative.
  2. REMEMBER - this is a summer league not the olympics.
